The Monastery of the Holy Eucharist in Cebu, commonly known as Simala Church, was established in 1998 by the Marian Monks of Eucharistic Adoration. The monastery was built as a new sanctuary for the monks who were displaced by the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in 1991. The Church of Simala
